Magic in the Mundane

I was watching the sun peek through the nearly-bare trees yesterday morning when I noticed the crabapple tree. This tree, which is no longer abundant and heavy with leaves and fruit, was glistening.

The rain from the night before had left it drenched, and so the sun’s rays glancing through the trees created what appeared to be thousands of diamonds. When a bird landed on one of its branches, the tree seemed to shake itself and release bunches of those diamonds.

Crab apple tree covered with rain drops, catching the light of the sun and sparkling like suncatchers.

It was magical, and yet the magic came from the mundane; the ordinary; the everyday. In this instance, the magic came from water on tree limbs and clinging leaves and crabapples catching the sun’s attention.

It feels like this is important to remember and be aware of; this concept and observation of magic in the mundane. Because while magic in its “truest” sense is amazing and remarkable and all those sorts of adjectives, the magic that reveals itself in our Earthly surroundings, born of our everyday scenery, is equally extraordinary.

Notice the magic in the mundane…

and then engage in the magic that arises not from the Earthly realm. Engage with the intuition, with the energy healing; engage with the clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience. Permit that you will appreciate the magical quality of these abilities, and enroll them in creating intentional magic within your life.

Blessed be.
