A Thanksgiving Break

Today, Sunday, November 22, 2020, marks the first day of my self-promised quarterly break. And that’s to say it’s already been three months since my last break, which came only after I almost broke.

Today through Monday, November 30, 2020, I’ll be on a break from my soul biz - although it might not appear that way.

I’ll explain.

Showing Up

A little over a week ago, I received an invitation to join Louise Henry’s #ShowUpOnline initiative. The plan is to put content online every day for 30 days, and it agrees with me. In fact, it agrees with me - and my soul guides, to be clear - so much that I’m doing it for 40 days, taking me through December 31.

Fitting, right? I thought so, too. Also, the 40 days fit 2020 numerologically, which feels important. Also, we’re entering the end of 2020. (!!)

So, every day here on my site - the intuitively chosen online space - there will be either a blog post or a podcast episode (within a blog frame). And almost all of them - all except two, I believe - will be pre-scheduled to post each day.

As for the other two… due to their planned themes, they need to be addressed on the day they’ll post. You’ll see why when the time comes.

Anywho, I’m really grateful for Louise’s prompt, because I haven’t been showing up the way I prefer to online. I needed this incentive, and find my creative juices are having a field day.

Cue creativity-fueled happy dance.

About that Break

I’m honoring it, because, yes, I made a promise to myself. And I’m honoring it because, yes, I blocked out the time on my calendar and have planned ahead for it.

It’s interesting for me to note, however, how very easy it would be for me to let it slide. It would be so, so easy to make an excuse and “just take a little time” to get some extra work done. (I see you 5:11, as I typed that.)

Fact is, I do need the time. I can tell. And I want the time because Thanksgiving week is one of my favorite weeks of the year.

❣ I love the gentle preparations for “the feast” starting two or three days before.

❣ I love the less-gentle preparations the day before.

❣ I love the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, concluding with Santa’s arrival at Macy’s.

❣ I love the tradition of gathering in gratitude as part of a country-wide event.

❣ I love that Hallmark Channel offers up a new Christmas movie each night of that week.

❣ I love that we begin decking the halls the day afterward and that, by weekend’s end, the halls are duly decked.

Plus, I’m continuing my daily energy healing practice that I began October 1, and will have even more time to treat myself in that way.

Yes, things are definitely different this year. Even so, I know that it will be a restful week, and yet also a productive week in a purely personal way.

This break constitutes an important springboard for my whole health - physical, mental/emotional, spiritual, intuitive, energetic - for the final countdown to the new calendar year.

As much as it will surely serve me, it will inevitably serve you, dear reader, because that’s how all this works.

Blessed be.
