Simple Saturday (4)

24 May 2025

It’s Saturday, and it doesn’t feel like a day to be long-winded or make anyone, myself included, think a whole lot. There are better things to do on Saturday, especially if we’re blessed to have it off from work.

“Simple Saturday (4)” is an original blog post by Ellen M. Gregg, published on ellenmgregg.com on 24 May 2025. #saturdayvibes #simplesaturday #keepcalmandsaturdayon

My Saturday get-to-do list looks something like this:

  • Enjoy my first cup of tea

  • Enjoy my second cup of tea with breakfast

  • Cook pasta for a pasta salad

  • Complete my channeled writing practice

  • Make the pasta salad (I add green, red, and yellow Bell peppers, sweet white onion, chopped Gherkin pickles, and Italian dressing)

  • Make dinner (Boston baked beans, homemade bread, bread and butter pickles; quintessential New England Saturday night dinner)

  • Watch True Lies (Curtis and Schwarzenegger)

The pasta salad is a nod to Memorial Day and the long weekend. Even though our weather isn’t feeling Memorial Day-ish, it seems like a good idea to pretend that it’s the unofficial start of the Summer season.

I hope your Saturday is exactly what you need it to be.

Thanks for reading.
