Showing Up

Today, I’m showing up. Even though it’s late and even though I feel woefully unprepared and under-resourced, I’m showing up.

“Why?” you might ask.

“Why?” I might ask.

The words Showing Up overlay an image of many hands - male, female, white, Black, brown - layered in a show of commitment.

“Showing Up” is an original blog post by Ellen M. Gregg for ellenmgregg.com, published 12 May 2025. #showingup #commitment #integrity #collaboration #cocreation

Why show up?

In this case, I’m showing up because I made a commitment to do so. The commitment was initially made for myself, and yet it was also made on behalf of my business, this site, and you.

Channeled message

The way of the showing up is the way of the integrity. The integrity is of you, by you, for you. The integrity extends beyond yourself for observation by those who interact with you. We notice the commitment, integrity, and showing up inspire more of it.

Yes. That’s exactly it. That’s the bigger picture of this endeavor. Thing is, if I didn’t show up, I’d feel like crap. Not showing up would be letting myself down, letting my site down, letting my business down, and letting blog readers down.

In addition to that, if I didn’t show up today, even in my current state, it would be easier not to show up tomorrow. It’s that slippery slope that can get us into one form of trouble or another.

That said, that’s the long and the short of this blog post, except for this:

How are you showing up and not showing up for yourself?

Thanks so much for reading (which is a form of showing up, by the way).
