November 2017 Taught Me...

Closing the Book on 2017, December 28: November taught me… Death from Everyday Witch Tarot by Deborah Blake and Elisabeth Alba.

November taught me that endings are required to create beginnings, and freedom arises from allowing what needs to end, to end without resistance of the ego.

Referencing the events surrounding my mother, and how they shaped the near-entirety of the year, I can see how ending a wounded relationship with my her brought about a vital relationship with her.

I was holding onto a piece of childhood, which could be considered understandable given the mother-child relationship, and yet that piece was a great fear of her leaving - something that actually happened when I was 10, and her relationship with my father was breaking down. I didn’t realize how that was still impacting me, 40+ years later. Grateful for the opportunity to heal that wound.
