Energy Reading for Autumn 2018

Autumn anchors at 9:54 pm Eastern U.S. time today, and I'm so. very. ready.

Energy Reading for Autumn 2018 ~ A blog post by Intuitive Ellen :: Ellen M. Gregg ~ #energyreading #cardreading #mabon #autumnequinox

I'm ready, because Autumn is my favorite season of the year. If I have to pick one, Autumn is where it's at for me. (Not just because it's the season of my birthday, either.)

And, yes, I love pumpkin and pumpkin spice *everything*. Well, almost everything. 😉

So, it felt like an absolute must to honor the energy of the season with a reading. (Of course, I do it for all the other seasons. That's beside the point. 😊) The powers-that-be are directing me to the Earth Magic oracle deck, in addition to The Housewives Tarot deck.

Let's find out what's what.

Energy Reading for Autumn 2018

Energy Reading for Autumn 2018 : Cards: New Moon (Promise) from Earth Magic oracle deck and Page of Cups from The Housewives Tarot deck ~ Intuitive Ellen :: Ellen M. Gregg

Ooh... Such interesting cards to draw - especially New Moon, considering the full moon is just around the corner. There's a synergy between the two cards, for sure. New Moon depicts what appears to be a nurtured relationship, and the Page of Cups depicts nurturing - tending - relationships.

I'll break down each card individually, and then offer a summary that will hopefully be both practical and inspirational.

Here's the scoop:

New Moon (Promise)

"We see the energy of the full moon closes in upon the heels of the Autumnal equinox, and yet first we have a burst of energy that better represents a new moon energy. The energy is one of renewal, of reacquaintance, of, yes, remembrance.

There is a reminder that even though we may feel refreshed and invigorated within the relationships with the self and the other, there is need to reason with energy that is focused upon powerful connection with ancestors."

Very interesting. Consider what Autumn symbolizes:

  • the final harvests of the year;
  • the preparation for Winter;
  • entering the darkness, as we have more nighttime hours than daytime hours.

In effect, there is a sort of new-moon energy about it, as we're welcoming in a new season and its ways of being. We shake hands with Summer and wish it well, until next time. We shake hands with Autumn and invite it in, once again.

Also, we invest our energy differently, both with ourselves and with others in our life. Consider that. What does it - and will it - look like for you and your relationships? What *promise* will you make to yourself and those relationships?

The "powerful connection with ancestors" is deeply entrenched in the lore of Halloween, a.k.a. Samhain, and then in All Saints Day, a.k.a. the Day of the Dead, right after it. While I don't feel there's any veil between the human and spirit realms, this time of year lends itself, perhaps, to increased closeness with our in-spirit loved ones (and guides, and angels) simply by virtue of us spending more time indoors.

Page of Cups

"The water is at odds with the air element that upholds the season of Autumn, and yet it must be that water is remembered within the season. Water reasons with emotion, with connection, with sacred flow. The way of the water is nurturance. The nurturance is a necessity for relationships.

To reason with nurturance of relationships, water them. Treat them as though sacred flowers, with roots running deep through the ancestry. Treasure the relationships as they will blossom even within the dark months. Treasure the relationship with the self, above all else."

What is it with relationships and this Autumn season? I'm fascinated and curious, even though it makes sense that we would tend the garden of our relationships since we no longer need to tend the garden of our vegetables and fruits - in the Northern hemisphere, at least. We can reinvest that outside activity into "inside" activity.

Instead of "Let's take it outside," it's "Let's take it inside."

Aside from the relationship with ourselves (which we'll tend first, right?), what other relationships need nurturing? How will investing time in those relationships help us and them to grow and evolve? What might be the fruits of this particular labor?

Summary

"In this season of internal rather than external, we ask of you the introspection to divine the nature of the relationships which create the community. This includes the human and the spirit, and it most of all includes you."

That's a lovely, thought-provoking summary. We have work to do, dearies, and it's work that will benefit ourselves, and also those we cherish in both human and spirit form.

We have some wonderful journaling opportunity, here. And we're all invited to draw clarifying cards for ourselves, too, to "bring it home," so to speak; to personalize it.

If that isn't something you care to do for yourself, you could ask for clarification with a card reading from me.

Happy Autumn. Blessings be. 💞✨🔮
