An Example of Evolution

I noticed it yesterday, mid-session, and didn’t think too much of it. Even though it was my first time experiencing it, I was focused on my clients’ needs, and so the unexpectedness of it took a back seat to the matters at hand. By the time the session ended and I was preparing for the next one, the experience had already faded from memory.

Then, today, it happened again in a near-identical way and couldn’t be overlooked.

“An Example of Evolution” is an original blog post by Ellen M. Gregg, published on 28 May 2025 on ellenmgregg.com. #evolution #intuition #medicalintuition #medicalintuitive #energyworking

It was specific to medical intuition.

When I work with medical intuition, I use a protocol I developed for myself. While basic, it provides me with a solid foundation from which to work, ensuring that no stone is left unturned.

In both yesterday’s and today’s instances, I followed that protocol, and things started in a “normal” fashion. I was just getting settled into my flow when I noticed a change in how I sensed things. The change I noticed was twofold.

  1. I felt as though my client’s body and my own were one and the same. Rather than observing from without, I found myself observing from within. It was an odd sensation, and yet also very cool. The only drawback is that it came with a side effect I found unhelpful: I was no longer able to see my client’s energy body. I needed to “request” it for viewing.

  2. When I reached a specific region of my client’s body, I found myself looking into an organ. That was unusual, to say the least. The benefit was that I could clearly see what the concern was, and since I was simultaneously feeling the full effects of my client’s body, I was able to “call up” the impact of the observed dysfunction so I could describe it.

Evolving in real time

This is a prime example of how we evolve in real time, oftentimes within the course of serving in whatever capacity we’ve chosen. In this two-for-one example, the evolution involved the sharpening of abilities I was already using. That sharpening was to an extent that it felt like two new-to-me abilities in the moment.

In the course of considering this topic for a blog post and then writing it, I realized that they represent the latest development in existing abilities. That’s how I notice spiritual evolution, in general. It’s more of an extension of what already exists in our toolkit.

That’s not to say that we won’t have something completely new, something out of that proverbial left field, drop into our laps. It is to say that we’re more likely to notice evolution as powerful enhancements rather than genuine oddities.

Have you experienced spiritual evolution in this way?
