Women Will Save the World
It struck me in a powerful way that it was two women police officers who were responsible for the return of Jaycee Dugard. It struck me in a powerful way that they readily cited their female and/or maternal intuition/instincts as one of the skills that led them to question he-who-will-not-be-named-in-this-post.While there is certainly a percentage of the population - both male and female - who may scoff at intuition, there was a quiet satisfaction in knowing that the innately female sense came into play in the resolution of Jaycee's 18-year ordeal. In my inbox Monday morning was an e-mail from Neale Donald Walsch (Conversations With God) with an invitation to an event for women. The subject line of the e-mail read, "Calling all phenomenal women...." and the first two lines of the message read,
It's no secret that women have a critical role to play in shaping the future. The Dalai Lama's proclamation that 'the world will be saved by the Western woman' only highlighted the reality that women are emerging as the leaders of the global change movement.
What Neale - and the Dalai Lama - said. It's been a long time - too long - since the Divine Feminine was given its full measure; a long time since the innate power of femininity was lauded. That time is fast returning and necessarily so.The question is, are we ready? Am I ready? Are you ready? If not, what can we do to be ready? We, the women of the world, are being called upon to dust off, polish, display and share our strengths and skills. So, come on all you doulas and midwives and healers and goddesses and witches.Let's get to it!
