Where I Conduct Card Readings (and Draw the Line)
As part of my participation in Ethony's 31 Days of Tarot (and Oracle), I'm sharing where I conduct card readings (and intuitive sessions).And, in a P.S. sort of way, I'm also sharing where I draw the line in readings and sessions; that is, what I will not answer question-wise.It's a sort of P.S., because when I went to check off this post as completed, I saw the prompt was not what I read it to be, which is sort of crazy.When I created the draft for this post from the prompt for the day, I clearly read, "Where do you conduct readings?" When I went to check off the post as complete, I read, "Where do you draw the line in readings?"They aren't at all alike. No clue what happened there. Oh, well. 🙃
Where do I conduct readings and sessions?
I conduct card readings and intuitive sessions from my home office, which is also my bedroom. Ideally, I'd have a separate room dedicated to my office. Perhaps.The fact is, the space serves its purpose well. My desk has its jurisdiction, and my bed has its jurisdiction. It works for my work, and so I'm very grateful for that.Allow me to take you on a tour of my workspace.
Angels and Tarot cards and Jessup the bear and a singing bowl and a beautiful peacock-inspired candle create a sacred space on the left side of my desk.Oh! And a bottle of water from one of St. Brigid's wells, direct from Ireland. That's what the angel on the left is hanging from. They get along very well together.Every time I look at Jessup, I think of Jesus. In fact, when I typed "Jessup" I created an interesting typo: "Jessus." No coincidences, dearies. 😇The healing hand hanging from the lamp's power switch came from an awesome shop in downtown Exeter, NH, named Serendipity.And the beautiful young woman in the picture tucked into the corner of the mirror over my desk is one of my nieces. I love her.
This is the center of my workspace. lol As I typed that I heard, "center of your world." I can accept that.The placemat-turned-reading-cloth sees a whole lot of action, as do the sweet figures flanking two of my reading assistants: a snowy quartz and a black tourmaline.To the left you see another view of Jessup, and then to the right there's a merkabah, an standing amethyst stone, a quartz point with an amethyst cluster atop it, and another angel - this one with the word "joy" written on her skirt.
This is the right side of my workspace, with another perspective of the merkabah, etc. Now you can see the entirety of angel number four (an abundance angel).There's also a goddess medallion on top of a white onyx worry stone with another quartz point in front of it, a selenite heart, and a turquoise and gold wire dragonfly from Alaska.Today's* Money Magic Manifestation card ("I am grateful for all that I have in my life) is propped up against a pine-scented candle, and the abalone shell provides a home for the rest of the MMM cards.You can also see my unusual pen, etc., holder - the final Christmas gift from my dear friend and Ya-Ya Linda who passed in March of 2015.And then, of course, there are all the oracle cards I work with for readings and sessions, with my trusty water bottle at the ready, always. Plus, you can just get a glimpse of my coffee cup, as I'm still finishing my one cup for the day during this writing.Above all of it is my calendar. It's a lunar calendar, and so it honors the moon phases rather than specific months.Each page begins with the date of the new moon. On this page, the new moon was December 28 and so that's the first date acknowledged. The final date on this page is January 26, since the next new moon is January 27*.
Just to the right of my desk is a window looking out to the side yard, and the street beyond. During the warm months, the street is obscured by the leaves and other vegetation.
And then there's window two, around the corner from window one and facing the front yard and the street.There you have it. This is where I conduct 99.9% of readings and sessions.
Where do I draw the line in readings and sessions?
I won't answer questions about other people in the way of, "What is he/she feeling?" and "What is he/she doing?" and "Will he/she come (or come back) to me?"What I will gladly answer is, "What can I do to help myself from obsessing over what he/she is feeling?" and "What do I need to focus on doing in my own life?" and "How can I focus on healing myself to be open to the best relationship for me in the ideal time?"See the difference?Readings and sessions with me are all about you as the querent; you as the focal point. While it may be that other people come up by way of your relationship with them, the perspective will be of and for you, not them.And this, my dears, concludes 31 Days of Tarot (and Oracle). Holy mama. What a way to start the new year.
