The Thrill of Synchronicity

Good day, friends!

I love synchronicity. Are you familiar with it?  Do you welcome it, or does it startle you and raise up a little fear?

I tend to find it thrilling, as indicated by this post's title.

Here's what happened:  Last night, I e-mailed a group of my dearest friends regarding my "skinny budget," as they had requested, to see if they could identify anything that could be further trimmed from it. Across the board, the one and only thing they all came up with was, I was paying way too much for car insurance. At their rightful urging, I committed to calling around for quotes today.

This morning, I opened my inbox, and found an email from Mint with the subject line Pay Less for Car Insurance.

I use Mint.com, a free budgeting tool, to track my budget. Receiving that e-mail from them, which I quickly opened and clicked through to get more info, was no coincidence.

It was synchronicity, pure and simple.

Within ten minutes, I had quotes from two agencies, and chose one that will cut my payment by $40.00 per month. In the scheme of things for me at this time, that is a huge amount of money saved. I'm very grateful.

In addition, there was discussion during the e-mail exchange regarding what I termed "incidental" items: shampoo, hand soap, body wash, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc. Sometimes it can be downright difficult to make room in my budget for things that really are a necessity; not incidentals, at all.

This afternoon, I heard a sound at my front door, but no one knocked. I went to the door and opened it with some struggle, because something weighty was hanging on the doorknob. It was a bag filled with "incidentals." There was toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, body wash, toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, salad dressing, and a gourmet mustard.

I cried. There is so much good in this world; so much love and light.

Question: Can you think of a time when synchronicity stepped in?

Love and light. ~Ellen
