Self-Evaluation
Self-evaluation is… a concept that asks us, perhaps requires us, to cast aside our own self-judgement so that we view ourselves with clarity and compassion. That combination - clarity and compassion - permits us to render onto ourselves the actions we need for healing and for engaging with our lives wholeheartedly, wholespiritedly.
The question is: What is the purpose of self-evaluation.
We notice self-evaluation permits the human to see their areas of dis-ease, disharmony, disruption that they may address them, service them, heal them. Without self-evaluation, the human will overlook that which requires healing, servicing, addressing.
The message said “the human will overlook” and I immediately thought, “overlook and/or ignore.” Because if we’re really honest with ourselves, it’s highly likely the though of self-evaluation, which would naturally require some excavation, is a discomfort we would rather bypass.
We feel the bypassing is the reasoning behind the sensation of stuckness and misalignment humans experience.
I’m feeling that’s a core truth, right there. So…
How do we approach self-evaluation?
Self-evaluation as engaged by the human is needfully approached with an open mind and an open heart. This then allows the human to perceive themselves through a lens that is clear and compassionate; that is without judgement; that makes way for deeper understanding.
Understand, then, that you must self-evaluate before you self-evaluate. You must permit yourself to gauge if the ego is in a frame of judgement, or if it is in a frame of rest. When the ego is in rest will be the ideal time to undertake the full self-evaluation.
Ooh… That second-to-the-last channeled sentence is interesting, to say the least. It would seem to indicate that when in its wakeful state, the ego is automatically in judgement of what it perceives. If that’s the case, then it’s super important we’re aware of and observe that.
It makes sense the more I analyze it. The ego’s job is to make judgements in order to keep us safe. However, there’s a big difference between making judgements for safety’s sake, and casting judgement. When we cast judgement, we’re leaning into the toxic aspect of the ego’s mechanism which has nothing to do with safety.
Yes. And we see this is why the self-evaluation before the self-evaluation is necessary.
Intuitive self-evaluation
With all that said, imagine what happens when our self-evaluation is approached through the ultimate lens of clarity: our intuition.
The intuition reveals what you will best see; what you need to see. The intuition is without judgement, and so there is better opportunity to assess and remedy.
With this, ask yourself: How can I rely with greater intention on my intuition for self-evaluation on a day-to-day basis? This inquiry will yield great reward.
So much yes to that message. We all too easily forget the power of our intuition lies first in its innate objectivity. We need that sort of objectivity to get the self-evaluation job done.*
Allow that you will undertake the self-evaluation. This will provide you with more ease, more peace, greater rest and deeper understanding of who and why you be.
And so it is. Blessed be.
