Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom: Interviewing Divination Decks
This week, I'm interviewing Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom oracle cards by Christiane Northrup, M.D. with art by Jena DellaGrottaglia, published by Hay House Lifestyles.
For context: Eleven weeks ago, I wrote a post about the notion of interviewing the card decks we use for divination purposes. The intent: learning more about their purpose and energy.

What is the ideal purpose of Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom oracle cards?
The purpose of Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom oracle cards is to open the women to their imagination. Through this opening, the women can then envision the healing that is possible for them and allow it to transpire.
I'd say that's a pretty ideal statement of this deck's purpose.
Often, we can get caught up in the obvious and apparent; the purely physical aspect of what's creating disruption within us. When ask our bodies for more information through our intuitive guidance system, we open ourselves to other causes.
What happens when we open ourselves to other causes? We open ourselves to other effects, and therefore to other healing opportunities.
What is your energy form?
The form of Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom oracle cards is that of giver and receiver. As such, the wisdom given is the wisdom received. The healing given is the healing received.
Ooh... Yes. This is so important.
The energy form of this deck is active. The actions of giving and receiving are active. There's no passivity to be found here, as passivity nullifies the process. Beautiful.
Who is your ideal querent?
The ideal querent is the woman who will actively participate in the healing process.
I wish I could explain the feeling that came with the understanding that the same card for the last question would supply the answer for this question. It was a mixture of "aha" and "of course."
Doesn't it make sense? Since the expression of this deck's energy is that of active giving and receiving, it stands to reason the querent must honor that energy for herself.
As an active participant in the healing process, she then reaps the benefits of the wisdom gained and healing experienced twofold.
Who will benefit from working with you?
The women who will most benefit from working with this deck are those who have a sense of the discrepancy of perfection. They will see the wisdom that perfection is an unattainable ploy that prevents growth.
Wow. Well, okay then. I love that response as much for its truth as for its challenge.
We can so easily get in our own way through our thoughts of what's "supposed" to be and what "should" be. When we give way to those thoughts, we shut down our intuitive sensibilities and sustain what ails us.
How's that for an inconvenient truth?
Can anyone work with you regardless of experience?
The deck will respond with great energy to the women who choose to undertake the ease required of expanding their consciousness.
Interesting. At first read, that response may not seem to make sense. At second read, there may be some tension felt at "undertake the ease required."
Consider this: We oftentimes make things way more difficult for ourselves than they need to be; than they're meant to be. And so it goes with deep healing.
The process of working with this deck for healing requires an expansion of our consciousness, and that expansion is meant to be one of ease.
