Happy-Merry, With Love

It's Christmas Eve, and the newest member of my family of the heart is two days old. My Ya-Ya, Jocelyn, is now a grandmother, to be called "Oma," as her daughter gave birth on Thursday morning to a beautiful baby boy. That makes me a grand-Ya-Ya, and this wee babe named Tavon, a grand-petite Ya-Ya.

There will be another grand-petite Ya-Ya come late Spring, as my Ya-Ya, Linda, will be a grandmother when her daughter-in-law gives birth. Such excitement! :-)

Angels abound on my Christmas tree, reflecting my deep affinity for their luminescent divinity. All of them placed around the top perimeter, and most of them glass or acrylic, so they sparkle, shine, and glow...

There's one silver angel who was intended for a small Christmas tree a group of us were going to gift to my friend Holly the night she died in 2007, and so it has a special place with her first initial, in loving memory...

Victorian-inspired ornaments abound, including a feminine confection that's surprisingly fragile for all it's predominantly metal...

There is humor, too, such as a friendly snowman whose sign proclaims, "There's no business like SNOW business..." :-)

Music also has its place of honor in the form of bow-bedecked violin and glass bells, as well as harps and scrolls of music and the like...

Whimsy makes a strong showing, too, in forms such as a gold wire and acrylic ornament with Suess-esque swirls and spirals.

The common denominator with all of the ornaments on my Christmas tree is love; love for the people from whom many were gifted to me, and love for the flow of memories they all inspire.

I'll be offline until Monday, and want to extend love to each of you for your support, your inspiration, and your feedback as this remarkable journey continues.

Happy continued celebration of Hanukkah, and a very merry Christmas!
