Affirmations

I'm not sure what it was about affirmations this week, but they came to the forefront twice, and so the practice wasn't to be ignored. The first occurrence came via Carrie Green of the Female Entrepreneur Association (which, if you're a female entrepreneur, I hope you're following). She served up 3 things to try to overcome money blocks and attract more financial abundance. The main component is affirmations, and she gets very clear about how to apply them. (Please do watch her video. It's heartfelt and real, and I believe it speaks to more of us than not - especially those of us in service-related industries.)The second occurrence came via Lindsay Burton via Mind Body Green, who shared Here's How to Get the Most Out of Your Affirmations. Like Carrie, she's got some great insight that can help to magnify the power of affirmations and manifest what you want in life.Stand-Up WorkstationCori at Not Now Mom's Busy wrote a timely post: The Benefits of Standing vs. Sitting at Your Work Desk. Timely, because as Winter is winding down (from this post to Mother Nature's ears, please!), the urge to be more active rises. Is standing at your desk rather than sitting more active? Absolutely. She mentions two benefits that I think all of us could benefit from: burning more calories, and better posture. She also offers up images of (and links to) several stand-up workstation models. Of the five shown, I like the looks of the third the best, although I would want a glass desktop, and perhaps a more feminine vibe, overall.Honey-Lemon WaterAn article at Elephant Journal - I Drank Warm Honey Lemon Water Every Morning for a Year (Here's What Happened) - caught my eyes. I'm aware of the many benefits of honey as well as of lemon. I go back and forth a little bit on the honey front, because of my choice to eat vegan:

If I choose to take advantage of honey's benefits, does that make me a "bad" vegan, or a freegan, or just plain smart?

Since I'm all about listening to my intuition, I'm choosing to take advantage of honey's benefits without feeling like a "bad" vegan. If that makes me a freegan, so be it. (Balance, people.)I do have another concern about the honey-lemon water, and that's the lemon juice, which is not so good for teeth even though it's great for the body's alkalinity once ingested. (Shades of my holistic nutrition coach certification in the house.) And then it occurred to me: lemon oil. There's a good reason why there's lemon oil in the Everyday Oils collection, which comes with Young Living's Premium Starter Kit: It's one of the oils that is literally meant to be used to support good health, every day. So that's how I'll be benefitting from honey-lemon water.Since life is all about choices, here's the easy-peasy how-to for both lemon options:Honey-Lemon Water to start your day off right, and stay healthy.

Challenge

Since March 1 is next Sunday, I'd like to suggest a challenge. If you're intrigued or inspired or simply drawn to the notion, let's take the entire month of March - all 31 days of it - to embrace honey-lemon water first thing in the morning. It doesn't matter whether your lemon is of the juice variety or the oil variety*. Let's see for ourselves how we benefit from the practice.

What's Your Take?

What's one thing you want to manifest in your life? What do you think about honey-lemon water? Are you up for the challenge?

*If you choose to embrace the challenge, and prefer to use oil but don't have any, you can order some from Young Living storefront, here. Or, if you feel like you'd just rather go all-in and get your own Premium Starter Kit which includes lemon oil plus 10 other essential oils, and a whole lot more, you can do that here.
