Two of Pentacles
My self-study of Tarot continues with the Two of Pentacles. Or, as I just heard, “balancing act.”
Juggling spiritual abundance and material abundance in an attempt to create balance; off-balance in terms of material and/or spiritual abundance, leading to tumultuous times; living hand-to-mouth or paycheck-to-paycheck.
Pentacles, infinity sign, two ships, high seas.
It’s the turbulence of the sea and the precariousness of the ships sailing upon it that stand out in the way of caution. Of course, seas – as with life – aren’t perpetually stormy and challenging. They calm down.
Red, orange, gold, green, blue, yellow, tan, white, brown.
The red of the hat and the leggings are indication of the security at stake for the figure here. Red is the general color for the root chakra, which is the chakra of safety and security, including financial security.
What the Guide Says About the Two of Pentacles
“A young man in the act of dancing has a pentacle in either hand, and they are joined by that endless cord which is like the number eight reversed.
“Divinatory Meanings: It is represented as a card of gaiety, recreation, and its connections, which is the subject of the design. But it is read also as news and messages in writing, such as obstacles, agitation, trouble, embroilment. Reversed: Enforced gaiety, simulated enjoyment, literal sense, handwriting, composition, letters of exchange.”
I can see agitation and trouble through the action of the ships. The rest? Truly not vibing with the figure dancing and having fun, or any of the rest of what’s offered.
