“How beautifully blue the sky / The glass is rising very high
Continue fine, I hope it may / and yet it rained but yesterday”
From Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance
The daily prompt from WordPress’ The Daily Post today is titled, very simply, The Glass.
Its content is also simple: “Is the glass half-full, or half-empty?”
For me, it varies, but not between the offered choices.
For me, the glass is either half-full (plus), or it’s just there. The “just there” choice is on the new side for me. It’s a part of the Zen outlook that is creeping into my everyday.
Today, as I contemplate a generous animal totem reading from Ida, the glass just is. I love that.
When it’s half-full, it’s more than likely it will become full to overflowing. I love that, too.
