My self-study of Tarot continues with Temperance. Or, as I just heard, “give and receive and receive and give.”
Sustainability; moderation; give and take; natural flow; golden rule; Heaven on earth; “all is well”; open to all that is; a peek at what is meant to be; good fortune with great discernment; divine order.
Chalices; triangle; third eye; angel wings; the sun as a crown; lilies; path; water.
The disc that feels to me like a representation of the third eye stands out in a big way. I hear, “was blind, but now I see,” and consider how appropriate that lyric is to the awakening of the intuition and its insight, and to the awakening as a whole.
Red, white, gold, yellow, green blue, gray, brown.
It’s the red of the angel wings that stands out and also seems out of place. Why would angel wings be red? Then again… Red is the color of the root chakra, and the root chakra is all about stability (sustainability) and abundance and family and having enough and being enough. Viewed in that light, the red is very fitting.
