Scent

This is a recovered post from a botched website transfer in 2014. It was originally published 10/11/2013.

I'm becoming just a little obsessed with essential oils. I'd like to blame my cousin Debbie. ;-) Instead, I'll thank her.It seems a bit strange to me, as it's still a newly-budding interest, but there's something to aromatherapy. Happily, it's one of my required classes, so I'll be learning a lot more about the whys and wherefores of it in the near future.

Of my small collection of essential oils, my favorite is peppermint.

When I remove the cap, and bring the bottle to my nose, I'm transported to memories of Christmas, and the peppermint-flavored candy canes Santa would hang on the tree when he left our presents. He'd put one in my stocking, too. It was magic.

That bright, spicy scent energizes and delights me.

It makes me smile, inside and out.Other scents I'm drawn to include lavender, eucalyptus, and grapefruit.Last week, inexplicably, I was guided to use part of a gift card I'd received to purchase a bottle of tea tree oil. I find myself sniffing it at least a couple, if not several, times a day. It's soothing and invigorating, all at once. "Balance" is the association that comes to mind.

Today's task: Indulge in a scent that makes you feel something positive.

What's your favorite scent? How does it make you feel?
