The wisdom of The Spiral Dancer for this week
The phrase "perception" stands out for this reading.Look, and then look again. What at first may seem of the ordinary may turn out to be of the extraordinary; worth a second glance; worth taking note; worth delving deeper for more. It's easy to skim the surface and take what's before you at face value. It's less easy to be more discerning and inquisitive. The Spiral Dancer invites you to use your intuition - your innate power of deep perception - to see beyond the first-seen, to the unseen. What appears to be one thing may be something else entirely.----------------------Elton John's iconic song "Tiny Dancer" started playing in my head the minute I drew this card. :-) Something else that came of it, via Gilbert and Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore, were these lyrics:
"Things are seldom what they seem / skim milk masquerades as cream
Highlows pass as patent leathers / jackdaws strut in peacocks' feathers
Black sheep dwell in every fold / all that glitters is not gold
Storks turn out to be but logs / bulls are but inflated frogs
Drops the wind and stops the mill / turbot is ambitious brill
Gild the farthing if you will / yet it is a farthing still"
All in all: look beyond the obvious.
