Page of Swords: Taking On Tarot Self-Study

Page of Swords

My self-study of Tarot continues with the Page of Swords. Or, as I just heard, "A New Hope."Page of Swords: Taking On Tarot, a self-study of the Universal Waite Tarot deck created by Stuart P. Kaplan, drawings by Pamela Colman Smith, recolored by Mary Hanson-Roberts, published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc.

First Impressions

Page of Swords: Taking On Tarot, a self-study of the Universal Waite Tarot deck created by Stuart P. Kaplan, drawings by Pamela Colman Smith, recolored by Mary Hanson-Roberts, published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc.At the ready; prepared; awareness of surroundings; freedom to make a bold move; call to adventure; emboldened; welcoming the challenges to come with open heart and mind; "I'm Still Standing".https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHwVBirqD2s

Symbols

Sword, birds, white clouds, wind-blown tree, grass and sand, water, hills. The white cloud formations feel important to this image. They're "fair-weather" clouds and yet they still create shadows, aka challenges for those present. The thing is, unlike the "dead-end" challenge imposed by the 10 of Swords, these challenges are more manageable and may be attractive.

Colors

Blue, auburn, white, black, green, tan, gray, gold, russet, red. Here's that canary yellow again, this time bordering on gold and feeling powerful. Definite threads to the solar plexus chakra feel present, here, indicating power reclaimed.

What the Guide Says About the Page of Swords

"A lithe, active figure holds a sword upright in both hands, while in the act of swift walking."Divinatory Meanings: Authority, overseeing, secret service, vigilance, spying, examination, and the qualities thereto belonging. Reversed: More evil side of these qualities, what is unforeseen, an unprepared state, sickness is also intimated."Hmm... I don't pick up spying or secret service, and yet authority and overseeing resonate. Sickness? No resonance with that offering.

What We Say About the Page of Swords

Correlation between a man and a woman within one form.Great wish to create a new way of being after great difficulty.Openness to awareness at a high level of function.

Other Impressions

Asexual or bisexual or transgender."A New Life"Out on the other side, relatively unscathed.Luke Skywalker as a youth - right after the death of his aunt and uncle and his introduction to Obi Wan Kenobi and viewing of Princess Leia's hologram.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnOCZiD74OM

 I Might Ask a Client...

"What will you do to fulfill this call to adventure? What's your first step?""How might you open yourself more fully to an awareness of what all of life has to offer you?"What comes up for you around this card?
