This is it! Our first energyscope of the new year. Not that I'm overlooking the fact that today is still 2018. It's just that six of this week's seven days fall in 2019.
It's tantalizing energy we're dancing into this week. There's a sweet promise to it that nods to possibility and opportunity. There's also a feeling of hitting the reset button and starting anew, which I personally adore.
Let's get to it.
Our card for this first week of 2019 is...
...Take a Break: A life's work, not a season. Get off the treadmill. This card is from Rebecca Campbell's Work Your Light deck.
"Get off the treadmill" is the subtext that feels as though it's shouting at us - kindly, of course. Opening up to our guides' wisdom:
The way of this week is as though the way of the year. This is the week of setting new boundaries, new behaviors, new intentions. This is the week of actions for engaging with the new energy, and cementing the ways of the empress into the psyche, that they will serve throughout the year.
This is one of those times when we'll want to take a look - or another look - at what didn't work for us in 2018, and what did work for us in 2018. Through that examination, we can choose to bring with us into 2019 only that which is beneficial; that which works for us and with us.
That's what's meant by "Get off the treadmill." The treadmill, in this instance, represents the behaviors and patterns and habits and self-talk and relationships (and, and, and) that push us off course; make us feel lesser than; prevent us from moving forward; drag us into the past.
I hear Taylor Swift singing, "Shake it off," which is another great way to put it. Something I've done before to release energy in my hands is to shake them out. It's the same premise, and it works.
- What treadmills (yes, plural) do you need to get off of this week?
- What needs to be left behind in 2018 so 2019 isn't weighed down from the get-go?
- How will you benefit by undertaking this examination and exercise?
Happy New Year! Blessings be.
P.S. Funny story
When I pulled the deck out to work with it, I glanced at the bottom card (a rarity) and saw it was Take a Break. I commenced shuffling, and a couple-few shuffles in a card jumped out of the deck and onto my desk, face down. I flipped it over to see Take a Break. Fun stuff! :-)
