Where I've Been and What I've Been Doing

When I posted on July 18, I had no idea I wouldn't be posting again until August 17. My "blog-cation," as I'm calling it, was unplanned but apparently necessary.

I didn't go away. I didn't even go to the beach (this is New Hampshire, and it's summer; no way). I spent a lot of time with family and friends, enjoying their company. I am still doing that, and will continue to do so. I've been soaking up the stellar summer heat, too; something this area isn't always blessed with.

I've also been losing weight. In fact, I've lost enough that I am now wearing women's petite trousers and jeans in yet another size smaller. I'm loving that I don't have to hem those trousers and jeans because they're better-suited to my height. Who knew?

The bounty of summer fruits and vegetables have made staying on program a breeze. Zucchini, summer squash, delicata squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, and beets from the garden out back make their way into my stomach on a daily basis, along with bananas, cherries, grapes, watermelon, cantaloupe and nectarines, and most recently pears from my eldest brother's prolific pear tree (not a partridge in sight. yet.).

The bananas, more often than not, are in the form of banana soft serve. I've perfected how to make it, and it deserves a post of its own, which it will get.

Where have you been? What have you been doing?
