When I Was at My Best in 2020: A 2020 Reflection

Prompt three of A 2020 Reflection asks that I identify when I was at my best in 2020. Before that can happen, I need to determine what “my best” even means.

For this, I’m deferring to my spirit guides, who tell me, “Being the best for we is in being present, being aligned, being in awareness of the needs of self and others.”

Ooh… That’s lovely. Now, to answer the question.

When was I at my best in 2020?

I feel as though this happened in a big way once the pandemic became a real-deal thing and most of the world went into lock-down mode.

In response to both intuitive empathy and guidance, I created online gatherings for the practical and the spiritual and offered them free of monetary charge.

The spiritual gatherings continued weekly for months - right up to August.

I also created a resources page on my site where I shared practical and uplifting links and videos curated from people I follow online and trust. It remained on my site through September.

While both required a great expenditure of my time and energy, the calling couldn’t be denied.

"What about that time made it my best? What did I contribute to make it so?"

In both instances, they came from the well of my soul as much as from the depths of my heart. Feeling the fear and pain and anguish of multitudes, I knew I had to do something, and so I did.

I showed up for myself and for those I serve. And I showed up for those beyond the periphery of my reach who were guided to share space with me in the short-term.

Being of service in such a way was deeply fulfilling, which inspired me to keep it up. It was mental and physical exhaustion that eventually brought the gatherings to a halt. If not for that, they might still continue even now.

In time, those gatherings in a somewhat different form may make a comeback. If it is for the highest and best, so mote it be.

Blessed be.
