Shadowscapes Tarot: Interviewing Divination Decks

This week, I'm interviewing Shadowscapes Tarot, created by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, published by Llewellyn Publishing.

For context: Twenty-two weeks ago, I wrote a post about the notion of interviewing divination decks. The intent: learning more about their purpose and energy.

In that post, I mentioned that I'd be interviewing all of the divination decks I work with. That process began twenty-on weeks ago, and has included:

This is the last of this series, as Shadowscapes is my 22nd and final divination deck. For now. ;-)

Let's acquaint ourselves with this deck.

What is the ideal purpose of the Shadowscapes Tarot deck?

9 of Wands ~ Shadowscapes Tarot, created by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, published by Llewellyn Publishing.

The purpose of the Shadowscapes Tarot deck is to resolve the disconnection between the mind and the heart.

I questioned this draw, which was silly of me. The fire energy of this card, which is focused on a show of strength, seems a fitting "glue" to remedy the disconnection.

What is the energy form of the Shadowscapes Tarot deck?

Judgement ~ Shadowscapes Tarot, created by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, published by Llewellyn Publishing.

The form of the Shadowscapes Tarot deckis that of resolution. To resolve the disconnection, the energy of judgement appears. This energy sees all and opens all.

I couldn't have imagined a better card to evoke the energy necessary to resolve the disconnection mentioned in the first question's response. Judgement is the seat of all resolution, and vibrates highly with the angel realms.

Who is your ideal querent?

Seven of Pentacles ~ Shadowscapes Tarot, created by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, published by Llewellyn Publishing.

The ideal querent is one who engages with Earth through the senses of intuition, and energizes themselves through the flow of energy found in all earthly matter.

I'm breathing into that channeled message. When I look at the imagery of the card, I note the caressing nature of the elemental toward the fruit, and of the fruit toward the elemental. There's a synergy and appreciation that is palpable. There's giving and receiving.

It reminds me of the movie "Avatar" and the synergy of nature and the Pandorans.

Who will benefit from working with you?

Page of Pentacles ~ Shadowscapes Tarot, created by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, published by Llewellyn Publishing.

Those who will most benefit from these cards are those who will listen, and power themselves through the energy of their connection with Earth.

Great card draw, again. Think of a page in the way of "Cinderella." The page is the one who rode around the town announcing, "The prince is giving a ball!" Now, here is this page who is the "town crier" for Earth.

She has much to say to those who will open themselves to listening to her. Through listening, they will earn the trust and recognition of the elementals, who are part of the "earthly matter" mentioned previously.

Can anyone work with you regardless of experience?

Seven of Swords ~ Shadowscapes Tarot, created by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, published by Llewellyn Publishing.

The cards will work well with any who wish to remove the barriers which prevent their coupling with Earth's energy.

That's to the point. Notice we've moved to the suit of swords here. This suit is "devoted" to the energy of air; movement and change. It's also associated with our minds; our intellect. The figure here appears so caught up in his "headspace," that he is unable to synergize with Earth. Look how dismal his environment is, because of that.

I'm reminded, too of the movie "Black Swan," which is all about that head space.

The medicine this deck offers to those ready to reconnect with their "roots" is powerful.
